2013 Oscars Red Carpet Fashion inspires looks for your home

Houses and home décor are very personal and should be a reflection of yourself and your family.  Just as you dress yourself for a workday or a night out, your home should be dressed in a style that fits you.  So, how do we determine what décor and furniture can accurately depict our personalities?  You’ll need to find some inspiration and where else to start but how you present yourself each and every day to others – with Fashion!  Today we’re taking a look at some of the best Celebrity Red Carpet looks at the 2013 Oscars in Los Angeles, California.

We can’t deny our love for Oscar de la Renta nor our love for Amy Adams, and when these two combine it’s a match made in heaven – dress heaven!  Amy’s 2013 Oscar gown was a sweetheart neckline, beaded bodice, and ruffle tiered skirt ballgown in a soft grey hue with a hint a blue.  This gown’s skirt stole the show with layers and layers of tulle ruffles.  The soft texture and color create a calming ethereal look to adore.

When we think ethereal we think bedrooms!  Amy’s Oscar de la Renta dress has inspired us to furnish the bedroom with the Cleo Upholstered Bed by Vanguard Furniture as the center of attention.  This great focal point of the bedroom in a light greyish blue hue will make an impact without overwhelming your room.  Attention to detail is key and just like Amy’s dress is adorned with beading, the Cleo Upholstered Bed is adorned with Nailhead Trim!

The woman of the night this year was Jennifer Lawrence who snagged the Oscar for Best Actress for her performance in Silver Linings Playbook.  Although this beauty tripped while walking up to accept her Oscar, the trip was well worth it as it gave us more time to admire her Christian Dior gown.  A beautiful piece of art, her gown was perfect with the right amount of flair and drama at the bottom.  The white color downplayed the drama and created a sophisticated look.  The gown’s construction is at the center of attention; providing a flawless view at every angle and beautiful curvature to the body of the dress.  Jennifer completed the look perfectly with dainty jewelry details that kept the look simple.

Do you love this dress’ sophistication and grace?  Jennifer’s look inspired us to pick this Durham Dining Set by Four Hands combining the simple Durham Dining Table with the perfectly curved Orleans Side Chairs and Orleans Arm Chairs.  The chairs remind us of Jennifer’s dress with simple curves and just the right amount of flair at the legs, all in the pure white color.

There was no shortage of glitz and glamour this year on the red carpet, but Catherine Zeta-Jones stood out from the glittery crowd with her Zuhair Murad dress.  Catherine’s dress was completely embellished and included a swirl design throughout.  The curved swirls seemed effortless and organic, while the placement perfectly accentuated Catherine’s amazing figure.  Close-up you can see the details of Catherine’s gown with beading and rhinestones.

Catherine’s Oscar night gown inspired us to dress up the foyer with the Catherine’s dress.  Finished with some ritzy jewel inspired drawer pulls, this piece has Hollywood glamour written all over it.

Kristen Stewart dazzled the red carpet in Reem Acra and a pair of beautiful crutches.  Lucky for us, she set aside the crutches a few times for photo opportunities to capture her gown.  The slim lined Reem Acra dress featured a bit of flair at the back and train but was overall simple and elegant.  A beautiful sweetheart neckline lent way to the lace applique design in a nude hue.  It was a great choice for the actress to keep the color simple with the busy print.

Kristen’s gown translates into our living rooms with the Sofia Upholstered Chair from the Belgian Oak Collection by Bernhardt Furniture.  This chair takes advice from Kristen’s dress – keep the hue neutral for a busy print and feature the fun and flair at the bottom!  The Sofia Chair is shown with a cream and taupe colored floral print and antique brass nailhead trim along the bottom.

Poised and elegant, Amanda Seyfried glistened on the red carpet this year in Alexander McQueen.  A gorgeous lilac dress with a keyhole cut out and high neckline was balanced with a draping train and silver embellishment throughout.  The dress shimmered with the silver and lilac hues and even seemed to have an ombre effect from top to bottom which highlighted the actress’ face perfectly.  Embellished with simple jewelry, the silver beaded and embroidery detailing remained the center of attention with this ensemble.

Brighten up that corner of your home that’s been feeling a bit neglected for the past few years with an equally dazzling accent chair to mimic Amanda’s gown.  The Tight Back Greta Chair by Lexington Home Brands Furniture is a great choice with a unique curve at each side, a lilac hue, and silver nailhead embellishments.  A great piece to make a statement without shouting, this piece is great for any room of your home!

Last, but not least, we fell in love with Jessica Chastain’s Oscar Dress and Red Carpet look.  Jessica’s probably trending at the top of everyone’s best dressed lists this year in her Armani Privé gown.  Elegant and timeless, her look is glittering in just the right way.  The golden hue takes on a different tone at each angle but compliments her skin tone and gorgeous locks at every view.  Jessica kept is simple and classy but still made a huge impact with the detailing of this dress and the undeniably amazing structure.

Pull from Jessica’s elegant look and create a living room that works for you.  Follow Jessica’s lead and choose a golden hue, then accentuate the look with other gold tones with pillows and accent chairs to create a look that coordinates and reflects your classy style from all angles.  The 7161 Sectional by Huntington House does just that, in a major way.  This sectional utilizes tones of gold and plays with the traditional straight lined sectional by adding a wedge to connect the sofa and loveseat.  It’s a look that’s elegant and timeless, but definitely red carpet ready.
